When and how did the Lord save you?
The Lord saved me at a young age, around 7 years old... a significant turning point in my understanding of Jesus took place in a bible study during my freshman year of college... the truth of God's sovereignty in my life brought tears of gratitude and humility to my heart that I had not known before. His mercy toward me when I was dead in my sin has forever changed me.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
I came to The Village Church around 2008... Knowing I was enrolling in seminary, I watched the pastoral staff... I knew I wanted to learn from this kind of men, so I volunteered wherever I could... When the Dallas campus soft launched, I was on that team of members... I began to serve there, interned, got hired part-time, then full-time, and after three years on the Northway staff, moved to my hometown of Fort Worth to help launch and pastor our campus there. After five years in Fort Worth, Carly and I came to Flower Mound to work on a team that has felt like family for a long time.

Book/Movie/TV Show Recommendation and Why
The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis. It is a short fiction book that speaks about the non-fiction reality of the human heart better than anything else I have read. The entire story is centered on what we refuse to let go of when we are offered true joy.

How do I become who God has made me to be? It's the question I think about, write about, and teach on most consistently—and one we all need to be clear on the answer to.

Favorite Hobby
I love to be outdoors. Anytime I can fly fish, hunt, backpack—I'm in.
