When and how did the Lord save you?
In the fall of 2018, during my junior year at the University of Arkansas I hit a low point, with deep struggles of depression, self hate, and grief over the death of my dad from four years prior. That is when the Lord began placing people in my life to invite me to church and bible studies, where for the next eight months I asked all my questions and voiced all my concerns with Christianity. I was hostile towards the faith, but I kept showing up to church and accepting the invitations to the bible studies. I now know this was the Lord beginning the process of regeneration. It was then in the summer of 2019 that I sat down one night to read John, and it was in the fifteenth chapter that I read the words, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you." I had never read anything that spoke so tenderly to my heart, and in that moment the irresistible grace of God brought me to confess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I was saved.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
I have been at TVC since the fall of 2021, after moving to Texas to begin my studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. I first called this church home as a member, serving in several different ministries as a volunteer. It was through serving as a small group leader in the student ministry that I developed a passion for the next generation. Eventually that opened up a door for me to come on to staff as a high school minister in July of 2023.
Book/Movie/TV Show Recommendation and Why
I would recommend the book, The of Sovereignty God by Arthur W. Pink. It is a great introduction to "reformed" theology. In the book Pink makes a strong case for why the salvation of man is the result solely of the will of God. He uses both strong biblical support ad logic to argue against any human responsibility in salvation, and he does so in a way that has both depth and clarity for both the scholar and the lay reader.

Church history helps us know how the faith we confess has been handed down from Christ, to the apostles, to generations of saints, to us. it also helps us understand what issues the Church has faced, and what beliefs have been believed by all believers at all times

My favorite hobby is anything outdoors, specifically hunting and backpacking. I love spending mornings duck hunting or extended weekends in the mountains hiking around with everything I need on my back.
