Executive Director, Engagement

Top 3-5 Responsibilities
- I serve the church as a member of the Executive team, where I take part in operationalizing and harmonizing the mission, vision, and values of The Village Church. - I lead, develop, and supervise extremely gifted department leaders whose teams encourage people into deeper engagement in TVC’s vision through active invitations. - I support the Lead Pastors and Elders with special projects and tasks, as applicable

When and how did the Lord save you?
I do not remember a day where I did not believe in the veracity of Scriptures and the gospel, and was baptized as a young child in the church I grew up in. When I was in college, my faith became my own after testing the offerings of the world and finding them to lead to shame and destruction. God's love, mercy, and forgiveness for me through Christ Jesus became a lived reality for me, and I experienced a transformative identity shift while enrolled in a Steps class through The Village Church. I have never been the same since, and thank the Lord for granting me grace and growth in my sanctification journey.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
I first visited in 2007 at the invitation of a friend, during a series on the Role of Men. God used that series to heal the broken, jagged pieces within me and my story and begin the restoration process to Himself.

Book/Movie/TV Show Recommendation and Why
Managing Leadership Anxiety: Yours & Theirs by Steve Cuss. Outside of the Bible, it's the book I quote the most from and refer the most to. A pastor and theologian, Steve offers practical tools to anyone who desires to live a more peaceful, connected life with others, no matter the domain you find yourself in. I also love any and all Wes Anderson movies and will often default to an episode of Fraiser or Friends.

TED Talk Subject & Why
I'm not passionate enough or enough of a maven in any one thing to give a talk on; but I'm plenty opinionated on lots of things, just give me a chance to weigh in on a topic!

Childhood Dream Job
I envisioned myself working in the fashion world in a hub like New York City where I donned the most amazing power suits and wore stilettos every day.

Fictional Character Friend & Why
Ewan McGregor's character in Big Fish; he was curious about and believed the best in others–often bringing out the best in others–and was faithful to his word. He was also a bit mischievous and adventure seemed to follow him wherever he went.

Favorite Hobby
Taking long walks with others or by myself along trails and roads with pretty views and plenty of shade!
